Enlarge this picture! 21-year-old Elemér Balázs (piano), a student of the Liszt Ferenc University of Music, makes his debut with a brave record. The young artist from the musician family has won a number of significant competition wins and awards, including the Junior Prima Award, and one of his pieces has won a Phonogram Award on record. He has written music for theater and performed in famous concert halls in Hungary and abroad. On his first album, now released by Fonó, he plays Chopin's 24 preludes in an unusual way: each prelude is followed by the artist's own transcript, the reflection. This is how Chopin’s well-known pieces become an absolute contemporary with a young composer and pianist’s own reflections. The album is released with the support of the Wacław Felczak Foundation.

"Chopin and improvisation. There are no two concepts that are closer together, and there is no better feeling as my debut album to start with this wonderful project. I think the improvisation that our greatest composers like Bach, Mozart, Liszt and last but not least Chopin have in every concert "With this record, I want to get the message to everyone that improvisation is alive and well, and it's hard to find a more perfect musical starting point than Chopin's preludes!" (Elemér Balázs)

He was born on December 16, 2000 in Budapest as a descendant of a family of musicians. He officially began his piano studies at the age of 6 with teacher Ágnes Práda, and had already composed her own pieces long before. He is currently a student of the Academy of Music, Kálmán Dráfi. Creative Art Prize winner (2017), Grand Prix and Special Prize winner of the National Piano Competition for Best Bach Interpretation (2018). He took part in the courses of Gábor Takács-Nagy and Tamás Vásáry. His pieces written for strings composed at the request of his father were performed by the Dohnányi Orchestra of Budafok. This is called Eternal Love. disc received a Phonogram Award.
His first theatrical music was written for Sándor Weöres's Octopus, which became the performance of the season (2018-2019). In 2019 he received the Junior Prima Award, in 2020 he worked for the first time with the Liszt Ferenc Chamber Orchestra. He has performed as a classical solo pianist at the Academy of Music, the Great Hall of the Műpa, the Hungarian Radio, the BMC, the Institute of Musicology of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Óbuda Society, the National Theater of Miskolc, the Institute of Higher Education in Kőszeg, in Nevers and Paris.
