„In 1998 Zsolt Daczi (aka Bende) and myself started the Carpathia Project. It is a fusion of elements from the ethno, progressive rock, and jazz styles. In 1999 the first Carpathia Project CD was released at Periferic Records. Then in 2002 we started working on ideas for our second album. Song selection took about one year, and then we started recording at Daczi Sound with Berci Hirleman. Gyorgy Szappanos and Tamas Zsoldos recorded the bass tracks, and then around 2006 we began recording the guitar and violin tracks. Unfortunately, due to his untimely death, Bende was unable to complete the last two recordings... I decided to finish the work that we had started - for his sake, if nothing else. I contacted Tamas Mohai, who was pleased to complete one of the missing songs, and I recorded the other one. This album is dedicated to the memory of Zsolt Daczi. Bende, you will be with us forever!„ Tamás Ángyán
Tamás ÁNGYÁN is a multiinstrumentalist, playing mainly on violin and guitar, but he is also the dominant composer on this album. ÁNGYÁN is basicly a classically trained and educated musician, and he is one of violin-players at the Neue Philharmonie Westfalen Landesorchester.

Its extra special style is a mixture of progressive rock, jazz, latin and ethno, spiced with a bit of metal by Zsolt Daczi (real popular and well-known musician in Hungary) and Tamás Ángyán. The music genre is rather to call progressive fusion. On this instrumental album you will find sounds like DIXIE DREGS, Jean-Luc PONTY, Jan AKKERMAN. Besides the basic instruments, guitars, drums, bass guitar you can hear the virtuoso violin-playing by Tamás Ángyán who is a professional classical musician in Germany with a world famous symphonic orchestra, backing PAVAROTTI and other stars. Among others the flute makes you fly to the world of baroque and renaissance. The Fender piano and the Hammond organ are completing the great choice of instruments. In every song one can discover the Hungarian ethno roots. It does not mean this is a world-music album. This CD is a prog.fusion album in every meaning, but you can realize that the tunes, the rhythms and the harmonies are coming from the hearts of Hungarian musicians and composers. Recommended to you all, who love prog. with fusion influences.
